Tashi Kirincic 

Bio:  I am the Coordinator of Teacher Mentorship for the Delta School District.  I love learning and teaching and am passionate about cultivating and sustaining communities of learning for all teachers at all phases of their careers.

My favorite sitcom growing up:   Saved by the Bell – when I was a kid I desperately wanted to be a teenager and I thought Zack and crew were the coolest!

The sitcom character I feel most like:  The Golden Girls- I’ve always had strong female friendships and I hope those friendships will still be sustaining me in my “golden years”

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: Tashi, The Thirty-something Teacher (like Sabrina, The Teenage Witch) – because I don’t really have any outside interest or hobbies; I’m a huge “edu-geek” and my identity is all wrapped up in being and educator

Liz Bell 

Bio: I’ve been teaching for 20 years, mostly in Learning Services. In the last two years, I changed schools to embrace an in-class, collaborative teaching model, rather than pull out support. As a life-long Humanities lover, I am in the process of being converted to the beauty and excitement of math!

My favorite sitcom growing up: 3’s Company – Jack Tripper is the perfect roommate: he’s hilarious and a great cook!

The sitcom character I feel most like:   Elaine Benes – I’ve got some characters as friends, but I know that if I ended up in jail, they’d be right there beside me. And I am a great dancer!

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: “The Facts of Life” – “You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and their you have The Facts of Life”

Maurice Jacob 

Bio: Husband, Father to 3 and Principal of Immaculate Conception School, Delta for the past 9 years. Previously Principal at St. Joseph the Worker, Vice-principal of St. John Brebeuf HS and teacher at Holy Cross HS for a total of 28 years in the CISVA.

Particular interests in integration of educational technology, Genius Hour and Maker Space and giving teachers the freedom to try new things, fail and try again.

My favorite sitcom growing up: Gilligan’s Island and Six Million Dollar Man

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: Gilligan’s  (Maurice’s) Island

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: Love Boat- educational magic and miracles at sea!

My favorite sitcom growing up: MASH

The sitcom character I feel most like:  Mindy from Mork & Mindy as I am always trying to save people from bad situations.

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: Mork & Mindy.

My favorite sitcom growing up: Who’s the Boss? As a young kid, I enjoyed all of the characters and related most to Alyssa Milano’s character who was a tomboy and began to enjoy “girly” things as she grew up.

The sitcom character I feel most like:  Now, as a working mother with many scheduling demands, I relate most to Claire Dunphy from Modern Family. Claire can be a perfectionist and controlling when it comes to managing her home and children.  Although competitive, she is also compassionate to love and support those around her.

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: “Challenging Life of Blessings” would be the name of by sitcom as it follows my life through motherhood and working as a school principal.  Although faced with many challenges, one must take a moment to see the blessings.

Current interests of mine include students’ sense of belonging and parent engagement. Every action and every conversation has the potential to bring our school family a little closer together.

My favorite sitcom growing up: Cheers

The sitcom character I feel most like:  Sam Malone – While behind the bar, Sam got to hear lots of stories, listen to disagreements and laughter. The bar brought together a cast of different characters, each with their own opinions and perspectives. Schools also bring together a cast of different characters, including adults and children. The events that occur, stories that are told and opinions that are offered can often make for the chapter of a book. As principal, I get pulled into the middle of many of these conversations, sometimes laughing, sometimes shaking my head, sometimes in total disbelief. I’m starting to wonder if I’m starring in my own sitcom without knowing it!

If my life was a sitcom it would be called: The Fiction Writer. The kinds of things I hear, observe and experience daily, a person just can’t make up! Every day, I feel I have enough content to write another chapter of a crazy, unbelievable book.
